The Richard Carlyon show has been a huge success. I can’t tell you how many people have stopped by to tell us stories about how Richard impacted their lives in one way or another. With four galleries around Richmond exhibiting his work this month it seems that one installation is particularly moving. In our first gallery Eleanor Rifty, Jason Carlyon, Ashley Kistler, Micheal Lease, several work-study students and volunteers have all painstakingly assembled Richard’s Broad street studio.
Closely following a series of photographs there is hardly a detail missed. I often find myself playing spot the difference with the actual installation and a photo on page 40 of the exhibition catalogue.
